The decision regarding one's career choice presents many forks in the road, each one leading to a different work field, and subsequently a different future. Society expects each graduate to have a career chosen, and furthermore, a concrete plan on how to get there when merely a month ago, they still has to ask permission to go to the bathroom. From personal experience, I can say that there is absolutely no way of knowing with certaintly if the career you have chosen, if at all, is the right one for you.
Although I had the potential career as an architect chosen out for myself since the ninth grade, I could not stop doubting this decision of mine from time to time. After all, there is no way of knowing what a job entails until you are executing it. This is the reason why I chose to enroll in Academic Work Placement, a class through which I got the opportunity to be a student intern at Kindrachuk Agrey Architecture.
I cannot emphasize enough how grateful I am for have been given this research opportunity, and all the skills and knowledge I have gained through this program will no doubt help me in the many years to come.
