Duties & Responsibilities:

An architect is a generalist, not a specialist; they are more directly concerned with the human interface with physical things. For example, whereas an engineer knows everything about one thing, and architect knows something about everything.

"As a practitioner, an architect is responsible for directing the whole team of professionals that work together to complete a design project. This may include structural and mechanical engineers, interior designers, building-code consultants, landscape architects, specifications writers, contractors, etc. It is therefore important to know enough about each discipline to be able to aid, negotiate, and analyze the requirements of the project, and subsequently honor them."
